We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Banquet Manager to join our prestigious club.

Under the guidance of the Food & Beverage Manager, the Banquet Manager will be integral in overseeing casual, banquet, and fine dining service operations.

This role demands a professional with strong supervisory and organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Director, Executive Chef, Catering Manager, and others to ensure seamless execution of dining and banquet services.
  • Develop and uphold staff service standards across the Club's various areas.
  • Train and equip service staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about menus and beverages for all events, thus guaranteeing superior service.
  • Supervise the banquet captain and staff, ensuring member and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage opening and closing duties, maintaining high standards of service.
  • Act as a liaison between service personnel and kitchen staff during events.
  • Communicate essential information to servers for smooth event execution.
  • Oversee inventory of banquet service equipment and supplies.
  • Assume the role of Head Waiter at special functions, handling guest seating and greeting.
  • Professionally address complaints from guests and members.
  • Schedule staff for functions in line with approved staffing schedules.
  • Participate in the recruitment and supervision of service staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections of service areas and equipment for safety and standards.
  • Collaborate with the Catering Manager to ensure accurate billing for events.
  • Attend scheduled staff and management meetings.
  • Undertake additional tasks and special projects in the Food & Beverage department as needed.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:


  • Enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with OHSA regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.
  • Investigate and report on accidents, insisting on first aid and proper accident prevention techniques.

Job Specifications/Qualifications:


  • Degree or Certificate in F&B Management preferred.
  • 35 years of experience in Banquet Service.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role in a Hotel or Private Club.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the JONAS program banquet module.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within strict time constraints.
  • Knowledgeable in departmental accounting, budgetary processes, and event summarization.
  • Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Professional demeanour and appearance.
  • Post-Secondary Education in F&B.
  • Smart Serve certificate.
  • Wine Certification or Sommelier certification (preferred).
