Position Overview:

Performs a variety of duties including retrieving and filing of patient's records/reports, and accessing and/or updating via the computer system.

Answers telephone and over-the-counter enquiries for charts and information.

Assembling and processing of patient health records for discharged patients in prescribed order and files reports in the appropriate patient file.

Experience:

Experience in a health care facility or physician's office preferred

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):

Grade 12 Education.
Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

Not Applicable

Qualifications and Skills:

Working knowledge of computers and demonstrated keyboarding skills.
Ability to file accurately.
Neat, legible penmanship.
Demonstrated understanding of the terminal digit filing system.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

Physical strength to lift filing materials.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
