Position Summary:


Chilliwack Bowls of Hope Society (CBOH) is a registered charitable organization that provides local food security programs and initiatives to children and families in Chilliwack and surrounding areas.

Our mission at CBOH is helping Chilliwack children in need reach their full potential by fueling their mind and body one mouthful at a time.

The Program Manager at CBOH will have the opportunity to help shape and enhance the effectiveness of our programs.


Qualifications:


  • Education, Training and Experience:_
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in a Human/Social Services field.
  • Minimum three (3) years recent related experience working in at least one area directly relevant to the position

Areas include:

network, coalition, and/or relationship building, program design, non-profit capacity building, social programming, poverty reduction, food insecurity, and/or food literacy.


  • Coach and/or facilitator experience required.
  • Valid BC driver's license and reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance and a clean driver's abstract.

  • Previous experience with capacity building and grantmaking is highly desirable.
  • Love of learning and curiosity about emerging issues and research affecting the arts.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, in particular, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in an environment of rapid change and shifting priorities.
  • Selfmotivated, with strong organizations skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain confidential and discreet.
  • Excellent problemsolving ability, innovative, flexible, and able to manage change and uncertainty.
  • Ability to work independently and collegially in a team environment.
  • Willing to do what is necessary to ensure the smooth running of the program and interaction with various stakeholders.
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of programs by ensuring the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards and licensing/insurance requirements are met.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with Chilliwack School District, Chilliwack Community Services, volunteers, program participants and CBOH staff to organize and coordinate daily programming.
  • Plan and implement activities, meetings and special events for programs and fundraising initiatives.
  • Ensure seamless program delivery by maintaining adequate volunteer levels by conducting recruitment, selection and orientation of a roster of volunteers required to fulfil the needs of all programs, and any ongoing demands related to the program.
  • Coordinate use of students and trainees acquired through funded or volunteer programs.
  • Maintain database of volunteers and program participants.
  • Provide timely feedback and reporting to Executive Director as required including program deliverables, important dates and events, organizational opportunities, weaknesses or threats, and statistics.
  • Promote public awareness of and support for programs by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events.
  • Ensure maintenance of all program records, documents, and updated procedures in accordance with CBOH policies and government agency regulations.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets to track program output and trends and provide monthly reporting of data to appropriate staff members for social media and newsletters.
  • Provide support in the development and analysis of various reports to effectively measure program outputs and social impact, including development of client and agency satisfaction surveys.
  • Revise program requirements and provide updates to internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Monitor and authorize program expenditures and maintain financial records in accordance to established procedures. Provide input to Executive Director in preparation of program budgets.
  • Inform the Executive Director of any operational challenges in a timely manner and work with the team to effectively address these challenges.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
