Role:


Do you want to help support a fair marketplace in Alberta? The Consumer, Registry and Strategic Services division is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, organized individual with strong customer service skills to join our team.

We are currently seeking outstanding individuals to be Specialists in our Motor Vehicles units, as part of the Motor Vehicles & Registries Administration branch.

Reporting to the Team Lead the Motor Vehicles specialist will be responsible for the following activities:

The Motor Vehicles Specialists will be responsible for:

  • The daily operations of motor vehicles programs, including Personalized and Specialty plates programs.
  • Leading and participating in priority and strategic initiatives that can include crossjurisdictional research and program development that involves complex legislation, policies, procedures and large scale IT system implementations.
  • For resolving complex business and system related issues.

Qualifications:


University graduation in a related field (preferably with emphasis on social sciences, communications or business); no experience required; or equivalent as described below.


Equivalency:
Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience


A Motor Vehicles Specialist requires in-depth understanding of:

  • Motor Vehicles administration legislations and regulations (i.e. Traffic Safety Act), business policies and procedures, user guides, manuals, and training materials.

Successful Incumbent will be required to:

  • Have proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Work under increasing independence and with mínimal direct supervision.
  • Possess a high degree of analytical, research, problemsolving and time management skills
  • Prioritize, multitask and be a proven selfstarter.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to consult with clients, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the registry agent network.
  • Possess a high level of customer skills in order to appropriately handle inquires, and complaints from the public, and registry agent network.

The following will be considered as asset:

  • At least 5 years' experience working in of front counter registry experience
  • At least 2 years' experience working in a regulatory, service delivery focused environment
  • Experience working with and interpreting legislation is preferred
  • Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Experience working within policy development and UAT testing.
