Position Overview:
McNally Construction Inc is seeking a Superintendent for our
Ontario Marine Projects. This position is an introductory position and mandatory training under the current superintendent is required. This position is based in Belleville but involves travel throughout Ontario based on project needs and schedules.
Along with the Project Manager, a Superintendent will have direct decision-making authority to ensure work progresses in a safe and efficient manner.
The Superintendent is responsible for managing day to day site works and short-term project schedule, including:Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Implement site safety program
- Ensure workers have correct tools and are following safe work procedures
- Ensure work is built to required tolerances
- Assist with work plan and method statement development for work
- Plan upcoming work
- Assist with 3 week look ahead schedules with manpower, equipment and subcontractors
- Supervise hourly workers (Foremen)
- Make sure workers and site are running efficiently
- Manpower projections
- Working hands on in the field with crews, in varying weather conditions
- Attend and participate in meetings, provide constructive feedback on designs or methods in timely manner, and as plans are implemented.
- Position will include training time under current superintendent
Qualifications
- A strong background in the heavy civil construction industry is required for this position.
- Civil Engineering Technician course from college or university considered an asset
