Serve as the dedicated Project Manager for a specific key customer with the responsibility of leading order fulfillment activities for projects executed within the Flowserve Toronto Parts Manufacturing Center (PMC) and across multiple Flowserve Factories.
This will require serving as the Project Manager responsible for direct management of the PMC's order fulfillment phases relating to this customer and serving as the Lead Project Manager acting as liaison between the customer and other Flowserve Project Managers responsible for managing projects at their individual sites.
These projects will involve significant complexity, high visibility, substantial risk, and may require collaboration across national regions and/or international borders.
Accountabilities
- Act as the main point of contact for a specific key customer on assigned projects, working across disciplines, regions, and platforms to manage the customer experience. This includes providing customer updates as requested by collaborating with PMC project teams and serving as a liaison between Flowserve Project Managers and the customer.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enable achievement of schedule, successful risk mitigation, positive customer experience, accurate forecasting of shipment, adherence to quoted margin, and successful completion of all contractual obligations. This will also include monitoring financial and OTD KPIs.
- Develops Project Execution Plans on assigned orders using the available project management tools and best practices. Reviews project documents and provides detailed inputs to order fulfillment and commercial operations. During contract execution, supports PMC project teams (as Project Manager) and oversees Flowserve Project Mgt (as Lead Project Manager) in preparation of key project management documents.
- Identifies and manages risks as well as handles contingency plans during all project phases. Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to obtain change orders. Ensures any change to the contract is documented, approved and addressed in writing.
- Preparation and submittal of project schedules and status reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Quickly and effectively manage issues, engaging multiple departments (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and others) as necessary to drive resolution.
- Ensures ontime invoice submission, after all applicable invoicing requirements have been fulfilled; monitors ontime cash collection. Presents project progress to Management on routine basis.
- Manage and track customer document submittals and approvals.
Position Requirements
- Technical background with Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Mechanical Engineering preferred, equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- Powerful selfdriven work ethic, willing to work extended/off hours as needed.
- Crossfunctional knowledge of manufacturing processes relating to cast and forged materials, welding, nondestructive testing (NDT), machining and fabrication.
- Strong organization, communication and facilitating skills with ability to interact with personnel across multiple customers and vendors.
- Ability to effectively establish priorities and work to specific deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Ability to multitask in fast paced, highenergy, goaloriented team environment.
- Experience with Manufacturing MRP/ERP Business Systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project software.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Travel occasionally required, up to 10%.
