Ridley's teaching facilities are second to none. All teaching spaces have a wireless network and Internet access and are equipped with SMARTBoard technology.


OVERVIEW

Duties will include the following:

  • Work closely to coordinate lab preparation with Head of Department and Science Faculty
  • Assist in teaching and preparation of equipment for safe handling of bacteria and DNA sequencing
  • Inventory supplies on an ongoing basis to ensure all supplies are available
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of lab, preparation, and storage rooms
  • Ensure safe and secure storage of all materials and equipment
  • Maintain and update MSDS database and ensure communication to all users
  • Coordinate with the operations of the school to ensure shipping and receiving of all materials in a safe and timely manner
  • Support faculty in the delivery of labs where required
  • Assist with supervision of lab spaces to oversee safety of students
  • Attend department meetings and functions
  • Familiarity with GCMS operation and maintenance an asset
  • Perform other duties as assigned

OUR OFFER
This position requires all work to be in-person and on-site at Ridley College in St Catharines, Ontario. The lab technician will have multiple preparation, storage, and classrooms to manage, all in the same building. There is free parking available on site and bus routes near the school.

Lunch is provided each day you are scheduled, and a meal allowance shall be recorded as a taxable benefit to you.

As a condition of employment, a satisfactory Vulnerable Persons Screening Report must be provided.
