Are you a dynamic individual with a passion for marketing and a knack for organization? We're seeking an entry-level Marketing Assistant to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving our marketing initiatives forward.

What you will be doing

  • Providing efficient administrative support to ensure the smooth execution of marketing projects.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team on project execution and taking ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Assisting in the curation and development of engaging social media content aligned with our brand strategy, including shortform video content, posts, and stories (experience with editing tools is a plus).
  • Conducting online market research to identify trends and inform our marketing strategy.
  • Managing and updating content across various platforms (website, newsletter, social media).
  • Reviewing partnership opportunities with brandaligned influencers and content creators.
  • Adhering to HI Canada's policies and procedures and performing other related duties as required
    .

What we are looking for

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple work demands effectively.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English, French is an asset.
  • Social media experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience in hostelling, tourism, service, or hospitality.
  • Graphic design experience in Adobe CS is an asset.
  • Basic computer knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong time management and organization techniques.
  • High degree of accuracy in typing.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining an effective filing system.

Your Location
This position is classified as - Remote but we're hoping for someone based in BC or Alberta.


Your work will take place primarily remotely from your home address and we will prioritize meaningful in-person gatherings that will happen throughout the year.

Occasional travel within Canada for meetings or to visit our hostels may be required.

We will do our best to define windows when in-person meetings and gatherings will occur and give you plenty of notice so you can make it work with your personal and family life.


The Association has defined core collaboration hours for all employees working remotely the hours in a workday when meetings are likely to be scheduled and guest and vendor contact is heaviest.

Collaboration hours take place between 10:00am and 2:00pm Pacific Time Monday to Friday to account for time zones. The role may include work at our hostels and occasional attendance at offsite meetings, as necessary.
