    Description

    Alexandria Moulding is a leading moulding manufacturer and distributor of wood and wood composite mouldings in North America & the world and is currently comprised of five distinct facilities within Canada and the United States. Alexandria Moulding has grown into Canada's largest wood moulding manufacturer and is also North America's leading Manufacturer retail marketer and distributor of mouldings.

    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    The Licensed Millwright/Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairing breakdowns, equipment improvements and new equipment installations. Rotating 12-hour shifts.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prioritize, plan, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Perform scheduled downtime repair and overhaul of plant equipment.
  • Perform installations, as necessary.
  • Accurately and quickly diagnose breakdowns and perform the necessary work to prevent downtime or return the plant to production.
  • Ensure that all activities are properly logged.
  • Care for maintenance department tools and equipment.
  • Make recommendations on changes to equipment and production processes.
  • Communicate on equipment problems and opportunities related to production.
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout the plant.
  • Report all unsafe working conditions to management or a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must have valid license/certificate for industrial mechanic millwright (or other related fields)
  • High school diploma
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, MIG welding, etc.)
  • Have a basic knowledge of industrial electricity.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Valid driver's license
