***The
Material Handler is directly accountable to the Production Supervisor on the floor and the Operations Manager.


Able to organize, control and prioritize areas of responsibility and carry out to completion on an agreed timetable and abide by all Vicwest health and safety rules.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Load and unload materials
  • Operation equipment such as forklift, crane, or conveyor to move materials to and from designated areas.
  • Help Machine Operators when required.
  • Perform other duties throughout the plant.
  • Loads trucks as outlined by the shipping department.
  • Completes a shipping inspection checklist and hand it to the shipping department.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
  • Completes all safety checks before the start of inspections.
  • Trains new employees as required
  • Other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager

EDUCATION, SKILL, AND KNOWLEDGE:


  • Grade 12 diploma
  • ISO quality of standard experience
  • Lifttruck license
  • Good understanding of computers programs
  • MS Office
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good problemsolving skills
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs.
  • Able to distinguish varying colours.

From $18.39 per hour
