As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles.
The GO Expansion scope :
new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.
Objective
Ensure and/or perform the execution of Mainline and Urban (M&U) Signaling Installation - trackside and/or onboard - according to site planning, Installation Supervisor orientations and instructions, with a special competency as team leader or technician expert
Responsibilities
In compliance to EHS (Zero Deviation) and Regulatory standards, the Installation Team Leader oversees day-to-day installation execution and installation workers' activities, including:
- Ensure compliance with design documentation and Supervisor Installation orientation / instruction
- Ensure compliance with EHS procedures and maintenance of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), ensuring collective protections are in place, and alerting the Installation Supervisor and Project Installation Manager, Site Operations Manager and Field Operations Manager whenever any deviation to rules or risk is identified
- Confirm installation execution readiness (man, machines, material, method)
- Ensure installation activities are performed without deviations, following design, methods, and quality standards
- Report and alert the hieratical superior if any risk, deviations, or issues are identified during the installation activities that may impact the safety, the quality and/or the work performance
- Manage the team for performing a task in a work location: review up to date documentation, verify tools, verify skills and train worker if required, verify availability of material and equipment for the team to perform the tasks required, make sure access is given for performing the work, etc.
- Perform reports as per request to the Installation Supervisor, Installation Manager,
Site Operations Manager:
daily progress report, survey report, anomaly report, EHS report, preparation of Handover report, etc.
- Ensure compliance of Installation activities with Digital & Integrated Systems Installation and Field Operations Process
Performance measurements
Quality of installation activities (Number of Punch Points)
Productivity as per reference Library
Issue of Red and Yellow drawing reports
Education
Highly qualified technician
Technical High-School Diploma preferred
Experience/Experience
5+y of experience on railway site management
Relevant experience on railway EHS management
Experience on railway products installation methods
Knowledgeable of Railway products and services on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M) preferred
Knowledgeable of transversal railway construction activities (civil, infrastructure, catenary, etc.) preferred
Work during night/weekends/Holidays will be required
Able to walk/carry tools in field environment and uneven terrain and with potential adverse weather conditions
