Description
BIOVECTRA has an opening for an
Automation Controls Technician.
This is a permanent, full-time position located in
Windsor, Nova Scotia.
- Facilitating and providing handson support for manufacturing process and control systems, collaborating with maintenance, engineering, IT, operations, and external contractors.
- Writing and/or managing the change control of technical documents (control logic, programming narratives, test procedures, validation reports) that directly support the validation of control and data historian systems.
- Administering the facility controls and data collection systems by managing change control and access to the operations servers for internal resources and external contractors.
- Troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis to effectively resolve operational issues with process and facility equipment.
- Executing projects on time, in scope and on budget that support operational goals and priorities.
- PLC/HMI/Data Historian field service, commissioning, and testing.
- Providing input into the company's IT/OT controls strategy for the direction and implementation of future technology and related technical standards. Make recommendations to support future growth of the system.
- Maintaining CAD drawings for the OT (Operational Technology) networks.
- Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor's request.
Education:
- Automation training with certification in an electrical, instrumentation or computer science program.
- PLC & HMI proficiency is required.
- Engineering background is an asset.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in industrial controls programming or Operational Technology (OT/IT) sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Project management skills.
- PLC/HMI programming with Rockwell/Wonderware products. (RSLogix5000, Factory Talk batch, View, ME)
- Proficiency in MS SQL Server.
- Must be flexible, selfmotivated and able to work effectively with a team or independently, in a deadlinedriven, multitask environment.
