• Home Care Provider

Job Purpose:
In this position you will work directly with sibling groups ageing from 0- 17
years. You will be required to enrich their quality of life in a home setting that is their own.
Provide the day to day care of the sibling group in accordance with all provided policies and
procedures manuals provided. To be incharge of the overall shift operations of the home.

Work conditions:
Will be required to work in a home environment with Netsanak Wekowaw
staffing team and persons served, providing the most natural type of service possible for each
person served to have a sense of a healthy sustaining family connection. Travel and overnight
stay may be required from time to time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for administering the day to day care of the person served and as a

sibling group.

• Responsible for the administration of the day to day functioning of the home.
• Required to provide direction to persons served.
• Responsible for responding and administering all emergency response procedures and

notifications.

• Administer necessary medication throughout one's shift
• Adhering to the dress code and/ or presenting themselves in a professional attire when

needed. Discussing any issues regarding the dress code will be done with the Home
Supervisor.

• Responsible for performing their work in a competent manner and displaying conduct

and behaviour that is consistent with Netsanak Wekowaw policies and practices that
are generally regarded as standard in business enterprise.

• Familiarising themselves with all related policies and governing code of ethical

practices.

• Responsible for ensuring coworkers are treated fairly, with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for being at work on days scheduled, on time and not leaving early

without authorization from their immediate supervisor.

• Employees are also responsible for notifying their supervisor, immediately, of any

absence, the reason(s) for the absence, and their expected return date.

• Responsible from time to time to administer and conduct budgetary and/ or financial

responsibilities within the home operations.

• Ensures that everyone is following the food handling procedures.
• In-Home lead will be supervised by the Home Supervisor.
• This position will require shift change and be able to do night shifts.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Completion of high school diploma and must be eighteen years of age.
• Six (6) months work experience in a child/youth related field.
• Food handling certificate.
• Standard First Aid—Level C CPR.
• Police Information Check; including Vulnerable Sector Check within the last three

months (this can be applied for during the interview process but must have before
starting date).

• Child Services Intervention Record Check within the last three months (this can be

applied for during the interview process but must have before starting date).

• Class 5 drivers.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Organizational skills and effective in emergency response
• Able to commit to the team for the betterment of each persons served
• Trauma Informed Practices
• Computer word/ excel processing skills

Hours and Benefits:

• Day and evening shifts: eight hours, with a thirty minute paid break in between
• Night shift: seven hours.
• Weekend shifts will be required.
• All employees will be paid $16.00 an hour for attended training hours.
• All travel expenses will be covered, overnight accommodations, and meals.
• Benefits package for all full time employees.
• Meals with persons served are included and encouraged.
• Hourly wage will be paid for any counselling or therapy sessions taken.
