Position Summary

In this role, you will be part of the Canada Value Chain HRBP team and will be accountable for partnering with the broader Canada Research and Development and Supply Chain Operations Leadership teams that they support to develop strategies and initiatives designed to enhance organizational effectiveness and support business growth.

You will be directly responsible for leading the HRBP function for two of our facilities located in Markham and North York, Ontario and manage one direct report.

You should have strong strategic and tactical capability as you will be relied on for counsel, leadership, execution, innovation, and results that fully enable the Canada team to meet their strategic and organizational priorities.


You will serve as an advocate for employees in the Canada Value Chain and will develop and implement change initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement, and talent development.

This role is a unique blend of strategic thought leadership and execution, allowing the right individual to have a significant and meaningful contribution to the business results and the employee experience.


Responsibilities:


  • Build positive, trusting relationships with the Canada Value Chain team and offer thought leadership and provide strategic advice and counsel regarding organizational and peoplerelated strategies
  • Work in partnership with the HRBP team to drive our talent management programs including recruitment, onboarding, talent assessment, succession planning, talent development and movement, and career pathing
  • Establish strong partnerships with leadership and employees in support of developing the optimal culture to drive high performance, retention and engagement
  • Managing, coaching and developing an HRBP Generalist
  • Conducting employee relations investigations and partnering with Legal when necessary.
  • Provide insightful data to guide decision making and provide proactive solutions
  • Partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to identify and set short and longterm HR metrics based on business plans and local business goals
  • Promote HR process standardization and process improvement based on feedback from leaders, managers, and employees
  • Provide expertise in performance management, coaching, data analysis, employee relations, learning and development, recognition programs and strategic development
  • Support strategic transformational projects

Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree required with 7 + years of years of experience in a strategic HR role
  • Experience within R&D or Supply Chain an asset
  • Project management skills an asset
  • Strong background in employee relations and talent management programs (onboarding, talent acquisition/recruitment, etc.)
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with all levels of leaders and employees in both a corporate and noncorporate setting
  • Experience leading a team
  • Passion for learning, motivated by change, and working as part of a team
  • Collaborative leader and relationship builder who believes is the power of a positive work environment
  • Curious with a desire to learn new ways of doing things
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills; loves building and maintaining relationships with people at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to recognize trends and develop recommendations based on data analysis
  • Takes the work seriously, but not self seriously
  • Ability to leverage a diverse workforce and create an inclusive high touch employee experience
