Your Opportunity
The primary mandate of an OSEC is to act as a resource to office operations in Toronto, Hamilton and Markham in the administration of day-to-day HSSE activities.
The OSEC's responsibility is to promote the Stantec HSSE Program and OHSMS, the EMS, and Sustainability Programs, and may assist in the development and revision of tools and documentation.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the Office Safety File containing the forms, reports, and training records required by the HSSE Program
- Assist PMs, supervisors, and others in obtaining PPE, safety, and environment equipment for employees
- Coordinate HSSE training as identified by HSSE Program requirements, hazard assessment, and SWP
- Conduct HSSE Program and Office Safety Orientation for new & transferred employees
- Lead/Coordinate/Support Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and other activities
- Support implementation of Workplace Violence Prevention Program, update HSSE boards, Emergency Response Plans, emergency equipment and coordinate emergency response drills in the office
- Support First Aid/Fire Warden Coverage
- Support office and field WHMIS/HAZCOM compliance, office related leading safety indicators including leading ergonomic assessments and investigations
- Be the local resource for Toronto, Hamilton and Markham offices, and maintain a regular office presence.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Valid full Class G Driver's License
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problemsolving and investigation skills
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple concurrent assignments
- Must be proactive and willing to take initiative
- Able to operate independently in a fastpaced, multidisciplinary environment
- Able to work with diverse teams and people, including Management
- Excellent computer skills
- MS Office
- Experience in the consulting industry would be an asset
Education and Experience
College Diploma or equivalent with minimum of 5 years experience in the HSSE field ; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
