Position Description

The Geriatric Mental Health Services (GMHS) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is dedicated to the provision of specialized, interprofessional assessment, treatment, consultation and follow-up services to older persons with mental health concerns, with or without addiction issues.

The GMHS is currently recruiting for two (x2) full-time, permanent Managers to oversee a Geriatric acute inpatient (GAU) unit.

Reporting to the Clinical Director, Geriatrics, Adult Neurodevelopment (ANS), Alternate Level of Care (ALC), Therapeutic Neighborhood and Social Determinants of Health (SDH) in the Complex Care and Recovery Program, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing 24/7 operations of a 25-bed geriatric admission unit.

The focus of this unit is on the acute stabilization of symptoms and active treatment utilizing interprofessional approaches that integrate mental health and addictions with geriatric perspectives for clients 65 and older.

The manager will support a team of interdisciplinary staff.

Priorities in this position include leading significant strategic initiatives to enhance integration and collaboration of the services within the portfolio and across CAMH in order to improve effectiveness and access to care.

The manager will be responsible for defining performance management objectives, establishing operational performance standards and quality improvement initiatives while monitoring daily clinical operations of the services.

The manager will be accountable for budget oversight of all services, monitoring clinical volumes, allocating and redistribution of resources and reporting on quality metrics and scorecard targets.

You will support the strong academic and research mandate of the organization and manage development opportunities in addition to supporting CAMH's vision of extending our reach as a world class academic centre in mental health and addiction.

This mandate includes a focus on both the educational experience of trainees, and the ongoing professional development of staff.


Qualifications
