This role will perform all aspects of drug distribution to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs leading to safe and effective patient care.


Core duties include but are not limited to:

Managing ADC's, preparation, repackaging and final product checking of sterile and non-sterile products for both Hazardous and Non-Hazardous, and ward stock.

You will have the opportunity to provide guidance and assist with the training and orientation of staff and students.

The Pharmacy Technician will also provide clinical support through problem solving activities and discrepancies to support the provision of direct patient care.

AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480.

This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Preferred Qualifications:

Prior hospital experience with a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to automated dispensing cabinets and sterile compounding. Prior experience in retail pharmacy setting. Membership with a pharmacy professional organization is preferred.
