We are seeking a
Junior Cost Controller to join our Project Controls team with Minerals & Metals (M&M) business unit and to support our ongoing and future projects.

The cost controller will collaborate with project controls manager, project manager and rest of the project team on small and medium scale projects as well as project portfolio.

The work includes supporting preparation of project status report, budgets, forecast and cashflow projections.

This role will be based in
Toronto, ON.

Your role within the team:


  • Open and setup a group of projects (both commercial and overhead), monitor, control and report their performance through the whole project life cycle according to the company procedures and general project control practices.
  • Control project cost accounts, coordinate their opening and closing according to the schedule and project status.
  • Support the budget and forecast process through obtaining source data and input to forecast and budget files.
  • Provide timely and accurate cost report updates at the end of each reporting period for the project control accounts to warrant proper monthly cost report.
  • Provide input to client reporting as per contract requirements including forwardlooking project and business cash flow forecasts.
  • Coordinate change management process on the project.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, accounting or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant cost control experience; experience in an engineering and construction projects environment would be considered an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite software, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong teamwork, problemsolving, and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills are required, with attention to detail and the ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
