    On behalf of our client, MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer in Edmonton, AB on behalf of our client- one of Western Canada's most reputable full-service mechanical consulting and engineering firms. With over 15 years of industry expertise specializing in efficient, sustainable designs for clients across a diverse range of sectors, they've crafted a robust name thanks to their commitment to building legacy and ability to tackle complex projects. This individual will take on a role that combines leadership, technical expertise, and client relations in the field of mechanical engineering. They will provide coaching to junior and intermediate engineers while engaging in business development and cultivating client relationships. They lead the design and construction process for projects, overseeing staff, setting project criteria, managing budgets and schedules, and contributing to the development of new systems and standards. Responsibilities:
    1. Coaching and mentoring junior and intermediate mechanical engineers
    2. Business development, build and maintain client relationships
    3. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in the field of engineering
    4. Conducting client meetings, preparing correspondence, reports, specifications and meeting minutes
    5. Maintain effective liaison with clients, developers, consultants, agencies and the public either in concert with the principal-in-charge or independently on behalf of the practice
    6. Leading the design and construction administration process on your assigned projects from Schematic Design through to Project Close-out
    7. Directing staff on projects, assigning and reviewing work, and advising on technical problems
    8. Establish and maintain project criteria by means of team-based communication
    9. Establish and monitor internal budgets and project delivery schedules
    10. Motivate teams toward performance excellence in all assigned tasks
    11. Contribute to company-wide initiatives for the development of new systems and standards
    Requirements:
    1. P.Eng. or Professional Technologist designation preferred however not mandatory
    2. Minimum of 10 years of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and fire protection experience in design, project management and client relations
    3. Experience with industry software, such as Revit, AutoCAD, IESve, HAP, Microsoft Office
    4. Analytical, communication and report writing skills including the ability to obtain information and prepare reports
    5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships with all employees, clients, colleagues, and municipal agencies
    6. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and conflicting priorities
    7. Ability to formulate sound engineering decisions and judgment
    8. Interest/experience in the application of green engineering principles; LEED certification, Certified Passive House Designer certification, and experience with Net Zero design are all assets
