About the Opportunity

Performs general maintenance duties, inspections, and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment and grounds;
Accesses PM Worx program for Preventive Maintenance schedules and processes work orders through the same program;
Performs internal and external inspections and audits;
Performs general repair work on structures and equipment; patches and paints damaged walls and doors; r eplaces locks on doors and cabinets;, i nstalls shelving, bulletin boards, dry erase boards, and pictures as required;, Assembles, moves, delivers, sets up, and picks up furniture and equipment;
Completes work projects; inspects work in progress and upon completion for compliance with standards;
Requests necessary materials, supplies, parts and tools required and maintains control of storage and use

Works in conjunction with Shannex fire and safety policies to help train staff in fire safety techniques; schedules fire drills and evaluates performance effectiveness;

Promotes a safety culture (or acts as a safety role model) by taking every reasonable precaution in the circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees and all others in the workplace, including but not limited to, providing supervision, training, information, and equipment needed for employees to do their job safely.

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
Between six months and one-year experience working with commercial or residential building systems and facilities;
Strong computer skills with proficiency in maintenance tracking software;
A thorough knowledge and understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, heating plants, etc.) and experience in related repairs.
Previous experience in construction or building maintenance is an asset
A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
