About The Role:

Bosa Properties is looking for a Real Estate Development Lawyer to join our experienced in-house legal team, which completes the majority of the organization's legal work.

Reporting to our Associate General Counsel, who is responsible for all Development Projects, you will play a key role in major legal dealings within our growing project portfolio, while working collaboratively with our business stakeholders and assisting the rest of the legal team with a broad range of real estate law services.


What You'll Do

  • Provide advice on legal risks and offer strategic legal guidance to various business groups on projectrelated real estate development, construction, corporate commercial and strata property law matters, subdivisions, land title filings, marketing activities, presales, residential and commercial tenancies, tenant relocations and other matters related to real estate development and the construction of mixed use and purposebuilt rental condominium, strata and industrial developments;
  • Prepare and file disclosure statements, amendments and address REDMA compliance;
  • Draft, negotiate and work with interests in land, such as easements, air space parcel agreements, affordable housing agreements, statutory rights of way, covenants, and other charges on titles as well as commercial contracts and transactions;
  • Provide support to the legal team and business clients with respect to various related legal matters, project completions, corporate objectives and initiatives.

What You Bring:

  • Six (6) + years of postcall experience working in a busy real estate development and corporate law practice;
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia;
  • Expertise in the land development and rezoning process, air space subdivisions, land title matters, disclosure statement filings, strata lot presales, etc.;
  • Proven ability to complete development legal work related to the construction of masterplanned communities and mixeduse development projects;
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating various land use, commercial and residential agreements, completing real estate transactions and related development matters;
  • Solutionoriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to offer creative solutions to legal and business matters;
  • Proven ability to take initiative, adapt to changing priorities and exercise strategic judgment with a high degree of professionalism;
  • Effective at articulating complex legal issues in a straightforward manner;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills;
  • Excitement to work collaboratively with various teams on a growing project portfolio and learn from a multitalented real estate law team.

Salary
The expected base salary range for this role is $143,000 to $196,700 plus a competitive bonus and benefits package. Our salary ranges and bonus percentages are determined by job family and level.

Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and training, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.
