Based at the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) facility, the Human Resources Generalist provides a full range of HR support to their assigned business unit(s).

In this role, the Human Resources Generalist will build and sustain relationships with all levels of the assigned business unit(s) to positively impact business performance, performing a wide range of generalist, operational and analytical activities.

The Human Resources Generalist is a key contributor to strategic initiatives that facilitate HR effectiveness, and will be responsible for developing and deploying HR best practices to within the business unit(s).


Essential Responsibilities


Support the implementation of HR activities, programs, and services within the business unit; identify opportunities for advancing talent management strategies and approaches.


Contribute to improving the analysis, delivery and administration of HR programs; streamlining and standardizing HR policies, practices and processes where appropriate.


Responsible for managing employee relations issues, compensation administration, benefits administration, and facilitating the staffing process as well as supporting workforce planning within the client group.

Perform benchmarking exercise of company benefits plan to market.

Responsible for annual benefits planning, evaluations, marketing, funding analysis, reporting and the full cycle of the benefits planning calendar.

Responsible for benefits technology, effective processes, programs, communication, education, enrollments and implementation of changes.

Advises and counsels management and employees on existing benefits.


Manage the day-to-day aspects of leave of absence and disability programs for all business units as well as partner with benefits insurers for effective cost management strategies.

Responsible for full cycle recruitment within client group including developing and managing strong partnerships with hiring managers.

Responsible for facilitating onboarding activities including surveys, check points and stay interviews.

Responsible for supporting the delivery of training solutions for assigned business unit(s).

Responsible for the facilitation of the performance management process.

Manage the day-to-day aspects of one or more complex projects.

Other duties as required.

Strong knowledge of relevant federal and provincial employment laws.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent presentation skills.

Strong employee relations skills with ability to drive change, ownership and accountability.

Ability to interact with Supervisors and Management and employees from a variety of backgrounds/disciplines.

Ability to drive results under tight deadlines.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Good analytical skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

**Qualifications
**Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a business discipline, or equivalent experience.

CPHR designation is an asset.

3-5 years of progressive HR experience in either a coordinator or generalist role.

Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
