Overview:
Lafarge is recruiting a Truck Transport Technician for a permanent position located at our Oak Bluff
Location.
The Heavy Duty Mechanic s are responsible for equipment used in all areas of the operation. A high level
of safety practices must be used at all times.
Responsibilities:
What you'll do
- Preventative maintenance service
- General equipment and vehicle repairs
- Maintain paper and electronic records
- Diagnose and repair equipment and vehicle deficiencies
- Maintain shop equipment
- In field equipment service and repair
- General safety in and around equipment and operating plant
- Reporting unsafe job sites and procedures
- Maintain a positive image to the customers and the general public
- Ability to plan work and selfdirect
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
Qualifications:
- Truck transport technician preemployment course.
- A valid class 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Must have own hand tools.
- Able to read and understand schematics
- Use of computeraided diagnosis tools
- Diagnose and repair hydraulics and electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair engine and power train issues
- Experience with Cummins and Paccar Engines
- Ability to read and complete work orders
- Ability to perform small welding repairs
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work overtime and shift work as needed
- The working environment is indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
