Description

As our Life Raft Technician, they will be responsible for completing and supporting inspection, testing and repair work related to life rafts (FRCs) and Davit systems.

Some of the additional expectations of this role include:


  • Inspecting, testing and repairing life rafts, evacuation systems, and associated equipment;
  • Evaluating work orders, customer requests, manufacturer requirements, and nonconformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management;
  • Troubleshooting conducting investigations and inspections of various FRC, Davit and lifeboats;;
  • Preparing stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimizing material utilization;
  • Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities;
  • Ensuring safe work practices are followed safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job; and
  • Mentoring other team members including apprentices and service labour.
  • Professional, highly motivated, selfstarter with keen attention to detail;
  • Able to safely execute highquality work on time, every time;
  • Focused on delivery of superior service and support to our customers;
  • Effective in communication and collaboration with team members;
  • Capable of demonstrating strong problemsolving skills and flexibility to address changing situations and priorities; and
  • Prepared to participate in ongoing learning and training activities.
  • Training in an inspection, maintenance, repair, or servicerelated trade or similar program.
- +1 year experience in an industrial or mechanical service shop or related work environment.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility to travel to and work out of remote client sites and work overtime if required.
  • Experience in a marine or mechanical environment particularly that of FRCs, Davits and life rafts would be considered an asset.
  • Factory training on life rafts, Davits, lifeboats, and/or evacuation systems, maintenance and repair would be considered an asset.
  • NOTE: All combinations of education in a related and experience will be considered.
