    Description: About us: The Engineering Career Centre (ECC) connects University of Toronto students with meaningful professional experiences that provide a solid foundation for successful careers and life-long learning. In addition to hosting a wide range of professional development workshops, events and services throughout the year, the ECC team runs two work-integrated learning programs to connect engineering students with a wide range of industry opportunities. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the incumbent is responsible for executing a strategic plan that guides new employer development; developing and revising innovative business methods that support employment services, activities, and objectives.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Tracking the status of business development initiatives, activities and outcomes.
    • Implementing plans that support the development of work-integrated learning opportunities for students.
    • Responding to escalated complaints using informal negotiation skills.
    • Developing and implementing marketing plans to promote programs, events and/or initiatives that support strategic objectives.
    • Implementing an integrated multi-channel external relations communication approach.
    • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials.
    • Analyzing data to determine trends and recommend target markets.
    • Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected.

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
    • Minimum five years experience in a sales or business development role.
    • Experience should include market research and analysis, identification of target markets as well as the ability to design an outreach and business development plan.
    • Experience and proven track record in a target-based environment with demonstrated success meeting and exceeding performance goals.
    • Experience working with a CRM or relational database.
    • Excellent communication skills and strong relationship building, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or priorities simultaneously with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Possess the ability to make decisions that represent the ECC, FASE and the university in a positive and progressive manner.
    • Excellent report writing and personal accountability skills.
    • Proven ability to exercise judgement, tact, diplomacy, and a high degree of initiative.
    • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
    • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.

    Assets (Nonessential): Knowledge of the career services industry and experience within an engineering environment, co-operative education, or engineering recruitment will be considered a strong asset.
