    Job Description:

    We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical co-op student to join our team and assist in internal and external analysis projects. The primary focus of this role will be to support our efforts in conducting market analysis and developing tools for both internal stakeholders and sales teams to better understand and respond to market trends. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in illuminating our position within the market relative to competitors across various business segments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist on Internal and External Analysis Projects: Provide support as needed on various internal and external analysis projects to aid decision-making processes.

    Conduct Market Analysis:

    • Analyze market trends to determine overall market demand and competitive landscape.
    • Evaluate the performance of competitors by analyzing financial statements and market data reports.
    • Develop frameworks for assessing the macroeconomic environment to inform pricing strategies.

    Collaborate with Sales Teams:

    • Work closely with sales teams to identify gaps in analysis and provide actionable solutions.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on market analysis findings.

    Skills Required:

    Macroeconomic and Business Understanding: Solid understanding of macroeconomic principles and business dynamics.

    Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and propose solutions to business challenges.

    Communication / Collaboration Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with sales teams and present analysis findings in a clear and convincing manner.

    Research Skills: Proficient in conducting research using external data sources such as government websites (e.g., Stats Can, Bank of Canada) and extracting valuable insights.

    Data Handling: Ability to clean and manipulate data sets, particularly external data with specific cleaning requirements.

    Excel Skills: Proficient in Excel with knowledge of:

    Pivot Tables

    Conditional Formatting

    Sorting and Filtering Data

    Absolute vs. Relative References for Cells

    Tables vs. Ranges

    VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP Formula

    MATCH Formula

    Education and Experience:

    Qualifications:

    Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program (e.g., Economics, Business Administration, Finance).

    Prior experience in market analysis, data analysis, or related fields is preferred but not required.

    Duration and Location: This position will be located at our Thorold Campus 2800 Thorold Townline, Thorold. This is a summer co-op position running from April - September.
