Department Overview

  • We are looking for an experienced, professional communicator to help lead a team of professionals who develop and execute external and internal communications for TD's global Wealth Management business, TD Insurance, Business Banking and TD Securities.
  • Lead a team of professionals who develop and execute external and internal communications in support of the four lines of businesses.
  • Lead the development of integrated communications campaigns to support business line strategies and elevate TD's reputation and voice in the marketplace.
  • Provide strategic communications advice to senior executives and business leaders and help to articulate TD's story to colleagues, media and other stakeholders.
  • Build and evolve the Bank's narrative around critically important topics including but not limited to driving growth, customer service excellence, delivering advice, being purpose drive and modernizing the Bank through digital transformation.
  • Understand and know how to build highly engaging and contentrich events and experiences.
  • Have extensive media relations experience and act as a spokesperson for the Bank when required and have experience providing senior leaders with advice and counsel to effectively manage issues and protect and enhance TD's brand and reputation.
  • Have proven experience working effectively and efficiently with business leaders, partners, agencies and vendors to deliver compelling and highquality outcomes.
  • Have a trackrecord of delivering interesting and engaging communications programs and strategies, leveraging both traditional and digital channels.

Job Requirements

Desired qualifications and skills:


  • 15+ years of experience in a corporate communications environment or consulting environment, or comparable communications experience.
  • Experience leading teams of communications professionals
  • Excellent judgment and proven experience providing communications advice and counsel to senior leaders.
  • Experience navigating large publiclytraded organizations to align stakeholders, and drive meaningful outcomes.
  • Ability to drive an agenda and influence stakeholders to bring about the right outcomes.
  • Exceptional writing skills whether this is a compelling media pitch, or executive speech that effectively captures tone and voice.
  • Proven ability to navigate in a complex or ambiguous environment while managing multiple highpriority projects or deliverables.
  • Demonstrated media relations experience, and in particular experience managing complex issues which pose reputational risk.
  • Experience leading digital and visual campaigns, especially storytelling through video.
  • Familiarity with both the disclosure requirements associated with large, publiclytraded companies, and broader emerging issues or trends that may affect our business or the industry.
