Your Role and Responsibilities

Position Overview


The System Administrator, accompanied by the IT Operations Manager oversees the perfect condition of the company hosted on Data Centers and Cloud.

The role is to ensure that all the hardware, instance, network, and solutions are running smoothly for our customers and our developers.

The system Administrator as a part of the core operation team is part of infrastructure project and must ensure data integrity, security and all linked tasks.


The role requires a high level of ethics / honesty, rigor and flawless organization given the criticality of our payment offerings.


Main responsibilities

  • Participate in the implementation, administration, maintenance and evolution of the technological environment and ensure proper documentation and functional analysis
  • Ensure stability, security and performance of the technological environment to keep inline with our availability and service level agreements.
  • Maintain and improve the system's backup technology, security and reliability.
  • Validate, recommend and participate in the periodical software and hardware patches.
  • Ensure all the required information for implementing, administrate and operating our datacenters and cloud and promote knowledge transfer, training and sharing.
  • Supervise backups integrity and testing for data recovery
  • Participate in security tightening with the help of the internal security team
  • May be required participating in scheduled outside hours rotations as a primary or secondary to ensure our clients do not get any payment penalty.
This role can be performed from Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in similar position
  • Strong analytical thinking and problemsolving skills with sense of urgency
  • Command of different OS': RedHat, Centos, Linux and Windows
  • Knowledge in hardware, software, networking, maintenance and patching
  • Understanding of vCenter
  • Understanding of backup solutions such as TSM Spectrum Project.
  • Understanding of Alerting systems such as Nagios and PagerDuty.
A clear credit check is a requirement for this role


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Understanding of Ansible
  • Understanding of Active Directory and/or FreeIPA or related services
  • Basic knowledge or Networking and Security systems (Access Management, Authentication Policies, group management, route management etc.)
  • Basic knowledge or interest in Cloud/Hybrid Architecture (AWS, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Terraform)
