About This Opportunity:

The Care by Design team is looking for a three-week locum to provide rounding at the Magnolia (Enfield) and White Hills (Hammonds Plains) Continuing Care Facilities.

Locum dates are July 21 to August 10th, 2024.

Requirements would be round at each facility one day each week (usually takes no more than 6 hours max), and to provide offsite phone coverage from 8am-5pm Monday-Fridays.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain long-term care experience. There are no overhead fees associated with this locum.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention

Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners'

Act as a patient's advocate

Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations

Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

Expected Hours:

To be discussed with host physician.

Qualifications:

Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)

Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)

Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
