We are is looking for a

Food Service Worker Program Instructor who would be responsible to train students and provide required skills and knowledge for employment as a Dietary Aide by hospitals and other health care establishments.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field Instruct curriculum using only preauthorized and provided materials Teach students using a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, case studies, independent or group projectsAdminister and marks quizzes, assignments, exams and/or other assessments to monitor and evaluate students' progress according to guidelines and procedures Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and return student marks promptly Provide feedback on student performance Arrange feedback from students on the instructor, content, and facility at the end of each course Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multicultural environment Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude Maintain attendance records accurately Assure that classrooms are left in a clean and orderly fashion at end of class without loss of or damage to equipment or other resources Provide support to the admissions team with potential students who have questions about the program or future career Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and informationDisplay an attitude of teamwork and problem solving Perform other related duties as required
Skills Required:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems
Excellent oral and written communication to present information in a way that students will understand as well as adapt to the different learning styles Professional business attire and interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model Online teaching (training provided, but computer skills are essential)
Technical Skills: 2 year of Preferred work experience as Food Service worker program in the dietary departments of hospitals, longterm care facilities, retirement homes, group homes, and other healthcare settings
Qualifications:

  • Have 48 months of work experience in the vocation OR
  • Have 36 months of teaching experience in the vocation and 24 months of work experience in the vocation OR
  • Have 24 months of work experience in the vocation AND
  • Hold a Bachelor degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent degree
Graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent
Graduate of a registered PCC or equivalent AEC/DEP or Skilled Trades Certificate (preferred)
