Responsibilities:


Responsible for carrying out regular fixed facilities maintenance duties according to schedule and ensuring the work carried out is done according to specifications, meets building codes and quality requirements.

This position provides building maintenance service in a variety of trades areas, including specialties such as sprinkler, fire alarm and ventilation systems.

The general upgrading activities would include painting, plumbing and carpentry in all fixed facilities, stations, substations and the Operations and Maintenance Center.

The Tradesperson also monitors the activity of various contracted services personnel as required.


Qualifications:

High school graduation or equivalent;
Journeyperson Trades Qualification in one of the Building Trades (for example, Carpentry, Plumber/Pipe Fitter, HVAC, Millwright), with training and experience in one or more of the other Building Trades;
Minimum of five (5) years direct related experience at the Journeyperson level or equivalent;
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in painting, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning and heating systems, as well as general building maintenance and janitorial work;
Demonstrated ability to function as part of a maintenance team; and

Class 5 Driver's License.

Recruitment Process:

An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.

A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.


Work Schedule:

20 hours per week.

This is a part-time temporary role with an expected end date of August 31, 2024.

Rate of Pay:


Wage:
$50.11 per hour
