Supervisor, Facilities Management

We are looking for an Supervisor, Facilities Management which would be responsible for overseeing and directing the day-to-day supervision, operation and prioritization of workflow and the safe operation of the power plant and building equipment throughout the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance.
REPORTS TO:
Manager, Facilities Management
DATE REQUIRED:
As soon as possible
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a valid provincial Certificate of Qualification issued by the Ontario Ministry of Skills and Development for the Province of Ontario in a relevant trade, i.e. Millwright 433A, Plumber 306A, Electrician 309A, or HVAC 313A and relevant work experience
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a qualified tradesperson in a relevant trade
- Three plus years of experience as a Supervisor or Lead Hand required
- Experience working in a teamoriented, collaborative environment
- Healthcare setting experience an asset
ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of skilled trades relating to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, millwrighting, carpentry, power plant and fire & life safety
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, building envelope, hazardous waste, elevators, CSA Standards, TSSA and ESA
- Working knowledge and practical experience with building automation systems (BAS), emergency power generating and building services distribution
- Exceptional skills with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Computer literacy relating to Facilities Management:
- Experience with Continuous Improvement activities
- Awareness and experience supporting Health and Safety requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and respond to frequently changing demands and priorities in a timely manner
- Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of construction and building drawings all divisions
- Motivated and proactive team player with ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, including the ability to coach, and teach Facility Management Department's staff
- Selfmotivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment
- Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work in a teamoriented, collaborative environment with a focus on ensuring the needs of staff are addressed in order for operations to run smoothly
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting/positioning materials within department
- Entails walking, standing and computer terminal work for long periods
- Valid driver's license and/or access to a private motor vehicle for travel to all sites within the HPHA
- Frequent interruptions and deadline pressures
- Ability to juggle competing demands and multiple priorities
