Mount Allison is a highly respected small undergraduate institution.

With 11 full and part-time faculty and technical staff and approximately 125 students, the Department of Fine Arts offers a BFA and BA with majors and minors in studio art and art history, with studio courses in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, open media and sculpture.

In 2014, the Department of Fine Arts moved to the Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts, a new purpose-built facility on the Mount Allison campus.

An important support to the Department on campus is the Owens Art Gallery, with a program of contemporary and historical exhibitions and visiting artists' presentations.
