Côté Gold is being developed in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.

The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

IT BUSINESS PARTNER


The IT Business Partner works collaboratively with all departments for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management.

They understand business challenges, customer priorities and competitive issues.

The IT Business Partner proactively serves as a trusted advisor to enable Côté Gold to achieve its objectives through the effective use of technology.


Key Responsibilities

Area 1:

IT business excellence:

  • Provide highly valued strategic consulting level support and guidance through key IT initiatives.
  • Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests and projects and initiatives.
  • Proactively share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business units.
  • Partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (e.g. return on investment, productivity, compliance)
  • Facilitate change management in relation to IT services.
  • Interact consistently interdepartmentally to ensure business expectations are met and delivered on time.
  • Provide insight to stakeholders so that we can enable data driven decision making.
  • Create and maintain documentation for existing and new systems.
  • Promote efficiencies and continuously seek to improve the performance of our systems.
  • Act as point of contact when introducing new software, systems and hardware.
  • Produce PowerBI dashboard and metrics consistent with expectations of stakeholders.
  • Dutifully hold accountable internal and external parties to commitments to ensure company success.
  • Develop and maintain SMART goals for the easy review that produce tangible results.
  • Find and identify early warning signs of project or operational deviations to mitigate damages.
  • Review current technologies and processes and make recommendations to ensure efficiency.
  • Construct and govern reports and metric data that will provide guidance on current, monthly, and quarterly behaviours.
  • Continually seek to improve your skills as an IT Business Partner.
  • Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.

Area 2:
IT project management.

  • Utilize PMP best practices to vet and quality control project deliverables and their interfaces.
  • Manage work packages spanning a few weeks or multiple months in duration of varying difficulty.
  • Process, manage and ensure IT/OT fiduciary duties are fully completed for operation and project finances.
  • Participate in selecting and managing consultants' performance if needed.
  • Develop customer training outline and/or provide or assist with user training.
  • Conduct postmortem review.

Area 3:
Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.

  • Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).
  • Coordinate with other team members to meet deliverables.
  • Mentor and train new team members.
  • Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
Qualifications


Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves
minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents

  • Postsecondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
  • Equivalent work experience would be considered.
  • Project Management Professional [PMP] designation is considered an asset.
Work experience - Nature & Length

  • 5 or more years of Project Management experience.
  • 2 years or more years of experience with managing IT infrastructure.
Additional qualifications - Competency requirements

  • Ability to multitask with several projects.
  • Proven project management capabilities with projects of $250,000 value or more.
  • Value collaboration and comfortable developing working relationships with diverse groups.
  • Commitment to excellence.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Teamwork oriented.
