Battlefield Equipment Rentals (a division of Toromont Industries Ltd.), one of Canada's premiere construction rental companies has an immediate opening for a Service Manager, working out of our Barrie location.

This location is a constantly busy, quickly growing facility that operates with a goal-oriented and customer-driven team.

As the Service Manager you provide overall leadership for the service department with responsibility for overall operating performance, customer satisfaction, positive employee culture, safety, and service.

You deliver results through leadership, direction, alignment and motivation.


Service Manager Responsibilities:


  • Manage the daily operations of the service departments in your Region;
  • Oversee service department staff hours of work, daily duties, job descriptions, employee evaluations and disciplinary actions;
  • Insure flow of rental requirements, customer repairs and our dealership and used equipment needs are met;
  • Promote and maintain properly stocked parts departments, with attention to high parts turns, as well as attention to parts obsolescence;
  • Upkeep and maintenance of BFE fleet delivery vehicles in the Region;
  • Maintain our onsite service and inspection programs in the Region;
  • Oversee daily internal work orders, customer invoicing and warranty submissions;
  • Ensure all health and safety and corporate policies and procedures are followed by parts and service department staff;
  • Other duties as required.

Key Qualifications:


  • Mechanical, Technical, and/or Construction, experience.
  • Operations and business management experience of at least five years
  • Willingness to travel to company and customer venues
  • Exceptional communication, relationship development and interpersonal skills to collaborate at all levels and with cross functional teams
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills with a clearly defined sense of urgency
  • Ability to effectively adapt and prioritize in a high pressure, fastpaced, deadline driven environment
  • Selfdirected, independent and a team player with strong initiative
  • Valid Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract
