JOB SUMMARY:

Lantic is currently recruiting for the contract position of Construction Manager for our Montreal site.

The Construction Manager (Owner's Representative) is a strategic construction project management professional whose job is to help oversee, assess, report, and manage the delivery of construction projects in line with established performance parameters related to speed, quality, and cost.

The Owner's Representative serves as the on-site "eyes and ears" of the owner to assist in maintaining project level schedule, cost controls and reporting in line with Owner's requirements.

The incumbent will bring "best practice" and innovative experience to this Project that will facilitate the delivery of efficiencies in terms of design, construction, and operational transition process.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Plans, organizes, directs and controls projects from start to finish, taking into account the schedule, the descriptive estimate and the budget;
  • Supervises all activities related to deployment on site and submits progress reports;
  • Participates in the development of implementation strategies and work phases as well as project closure and assessment;
  • Participates in the justification of the financial aspect of changes to contracts, the additional work, claims as well as the preparation of supporting documents and recommendations;
  • Contributes to building a relationship of trust and partnership with the various trades, professionals and customers;
  • Recruits local subcontractors, staff and supervises their activities by ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with the OH&S program and the working methods recognized by the project;
  • Answers all questions from superintendents, conflict management and implementation of solutions relating to plan compliance;
  • Approves budgets, and ensures that billing and payment followup with the accounting department are done;
  • Ensures effective communication and the collaboration of all the stakeholders of his team;
  • Presents impact analysis and assessments of major change requests to management;
  • Establishes and maintains systems and procedures relevant to submissions, control and reporting;
  • Participates in business development events;
  • Performs any other relevant task as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • Significant construction management or general contractor experience;
  • Cost management and forecasting knowledge;
  • Indepth knowledge of construction design, bidding, and execution;
  • Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks to meet requirements and deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills;
  • Frequent, highquality, efficient information flow and escalation is the highest priority for this role;
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning and the presentation of options and their implications to cost, schedule, quality, and impact on other stakeholders.
