ALTERA VICE PRESIDENT (VP) CORPORATE CONTROLLER

  • Remote Role / Canada _

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis.
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Coordinating activities with external auditors
  • Providing management with information vital to the decisionmaking process
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
  • Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
  • Manage and mentor a large team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years' progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller is preferred.
  • Prior experience in public accounting is required, plus a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experienced at process and systems improvement via a history of leading change management projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from financial data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with software revenue recognition is preferred.
  • History of successful performance in a fastpaced, matrix organization, including managing multiple priorities, and delivering results on time.
