Job Function
Business development for architectural interiors specialties. This position does extensive research and networking to identify and land new business leads, which are qualified. This position is responsible for generating new sales volume and targeting account development and competitive account infiltration. Specialties include storage solutions with Spacesaver, demountable walls and raised access flooring.


Specific Responsibilities and Duties

Lead Generation

  • Employ a proactive networking approach to identify and nurture potential leads.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute targeted marketing strategies, constantly refining them for maximum effectiveness.
  • Forge collaborative relationships with manufacturer representatives and corporate account groups to capitalize on sales opportunities.

Qualification & Turnover

  • Qualifies leads into potential customers; conducting thorough needs analyses to tailor solutions.
  • Researches client's core business to completely understand client and market factors that impact client's business
  • Makes persuasive presentations to customers on dealership's products and services—in person, through written/graphic documentation and electronic means.

Customer/Account Interfaces

  • Is available, responsive, and timely to customer inquiries, requests for information and/or quotations, problem resolution, etc.
  • Foster professional and cooperative relationships with clients and stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor

A&D Marketing

  • Cultivate strong partnerships with architecture and design (A&D) firms, leveraging their influence in project decisionmaking.
  • Develop a comprehensive marketing plan with defined sales goals and target A&D firms, demonstrating an acute understanding of the project, style preferences and design.
  • Follow up diligently on leads, actively participating in promotional events and industry gatherings.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.

Miscellaneous

  • Provide accurate and timely reports on sales forecasts and new lead generation efforts.
  • Follows HBI's established processes for Sharepoint and document saving
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to and develops professional and impactful sales materials.
  • Actively participate in special sales programs and ongoing training sessions to enhance skillset and industry knowledge for specialties product lines.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Meets monthly, quarterly and yearly sales and margin goals as set by the dealership and Vice President of Sales

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective prioritization and multitasking abilities
  • Skilled in relationshipbuilding and sales growth
  • Mechanical/technical aptitude advantageous.

Experience/Education

  • Prior experience within the contract shelving or office furniture industry preferred
  • Prior experience doing Business Development to the A&D or Construction community Is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience in Business to Business sales.
  • Post secondary diploma or Bachelor's degree.
