Your role:


Working closely with the actuarial and finance team in the American Life Insurance sector, you'll have the chance to use your actuarial expertise to help achieve our business plan.

More specifically, you will help develop new products and manage our product offering, including pricing.

You will have a direct impact on future growth and business development, and will be called on to innovate our actuarial practices.


Your challenges include:
Being a key player in various product development activities, such as:

  • New product design: market research, business case preparation, and product design development and pricing
  • Product portfolio management: setting product prices that create value, monitoring the market, etc.
  • Helping to integrate Vericity (acquisition) into our pricing and product development activities
  • Creating and implementing an effective reinsurance strategy
  • Implementing strategies to manage the risks associated with our products, such as changes in market underwriting practices, distributor and policyholder behaviour, etc.
  • Working with and supporting senior management on strategic projects
  • Helping to conduct experience studies, establish actuarial assumptions and perform their annual review, and carry out research, development and innovation projects
  • Continuously improving our processes and implementing quality control processes to ensure adequate regulatory and operational risk management

Desired profile and requirements:

  • Forwardlooking: Strategic thinking, business acumen, awareness of innovations in the industry
  • Collaborates with impact: Serviceoriented, teamwork and ability to influence
  • Skilled problemsolver: Analytical, critical thinking, ability to work with ambiguity
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science and FCIA, FSA and MAAA designations (asset)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of Axis (asset)
  • Excellent command of French and English (oral and written) for frequent interaction with internal and external French
- and English-speaking colleagues or partners across Canada and the United States
