2023 Summer Student - Data Analyst Intern, Canadian Banking Operations - Strategy and Insights

What is the opportunity?

The analyst will play a critical role in measuring CBO level productivity, and support various productivity and financial management reporting use cases.

In particular, the role will involve working closely with the 'Strategy and Insights' team which is responsible for surfacing CBO-level insights to shape strategy, plans and interventions to improve performance.

Other key cross-functional performance initiatives that are supported by the team include zero-basing updates, setting OKRs & goals, and measurement of progress against the CBO 2026 financial outlook.

Canadian Banking Operations (CBO) contributes to the growth and success of Personal & Commercial Banking (P&CB) by supporting 14mm clients and 20,000 advisors across P&CB.

CBO is 10,000 employees strong, collaborating in a hybrid model and in 13+ work locations. We deliver for our clients through onboarding and servicing support across all products and solutions. We enable our advisors to concentrate on critical 'in the moment' client activities.

What will you do?

Contribute in garnering CBOlevel performance insights, while partnering with the CBO Data COE to build on foundational, reusable data pipelines to support the development of marquee management reports in operations.
Utilize analytical skills to support strategy formulation, financial management and prioritybased investment management by providing transparency through development of business cases, interim 'health checks' / calibrations and other analyses

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have: _
Currently enrolled at a postsecondary institution
Experience with Python, SQL programming
Problemsolving skills, including ability to accurately define problems and identify relevant factors, and objectively consider alternatives
Ability to develop and present new ideas, and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
Nicetohave: _
Experience with Hadoop Data Lake
Previous internship experience in an analytical role
Experience in business ops centers or national office functions around forecasting and capacity planning
