What we are looking for:


As a Pharmacy Student at Oak Valley Health -Markham Site your primary role will include supporting the medication reconciliation process in various patient care areas of the hospital.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) collection and documentation of Best Possible Medication Histories (BPMHs) and technical tasks related to medication distribution.

You will be trained by pharmacy team members, including pharmacy technicians and clinical pharmacists. You will also be responsible to complete projects, as assigned by your preceptor or delegate.


What you bring to the role:

  • Currently a 3rd to 4th year student in a pharmacy program at university
  • Prior hospital experience is highly desirable
  • Welldeveloped organizational and prioritization skills; working in a fastpaced environment
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with a patientcare focus
  • Sound independent work habits coupled with proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

  • Year 12: $19/h
  • Year 3: $20/h
  • Year 4: $21/h
