We operate out of a state-of-the-art BRC Global Standard certified, federally registered, CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) regulated meat processing facility with additional facilities available in the Kitchener/Waterloo region to support expansion in Canada and internationally.

YOUR JOB:


Experience in the meat processing industry or other food manufacturing preferred

Duties

  • Review raw materials inventory leger to identify requirements according to standard algorithms.
  • Source price quotations, prepare purchase orders, and place orders with vendors.
  • Expedite and follow up with suppliers to schedule deliveries, resolve material, value discrepancy, and outstanding and overdue delivery of orders, warranty claims and damage, and return of materials.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and price lists.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine supply needs, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Prepare production schedules and keep them up to date.
  • Track actual production results against the schedule on a daily basis, research and report variances (with full explanations) to management.
  • Analyze data for reasonableness as part of report generation that supports a reporting dashboard and tracking of production performance metrics
  • Maintain production tracking data files for analysis, ensuring tracking files are kept up to date at all times.
  • Ensure that lot tracking capability is sustained and readily available and participate in recalls and mockrecall exercises.
  • Create and deliver standard reports as required and ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure understanding of reporting requirements in order to translate stakeholder requirements into reporting deliverables.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure data being collected from the production floor is complete and reasonable, highlighting anomalies for further investigation.
  • Participate in development, implementation, and monitoring of all key functions related to raw material and finished goods inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely.
  • Provide support for the cycle count program in a perpetual inventory environment.
  • Review results and help to identify necessary recounts and processes to be monitored.
  • Help to perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions.
  • Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures in an effort to proactively optimize overall location and item level accuracy and maintain the highest possible productivity levels.
  • Participate in determining the corrective actions, including inventory adjustments for cycle count discrepancies on items at the location level as needed.
  • Monitor inventory transfers between plant and warehouse for accuracy.
  • Monitor production orders for accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all inventory adjustments, including tankage.
  • Ensure that the units of measure are properly specified in the database in relation to how the item is purchased, manufactured and/or sold.
  • Participate in development, implementation and monitoring of item setup controls to ensure accurate setup of new raw materials and finished goods.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Skills

Education

  • College diploma or University degree in a mathematical, accounting, purchasing or scientific area of study
