General Labourer (Contract-Part-time)

Location:
London, ON

Shifts:
Thursday/Friday/Saturday

Duration: 6-month contract, with possible extension

Genecis Bioindustries is a venture-backed startup that uses bacteria to make premium materials affordable. Our first product line creates biodegradable plastics from organic waste. We are seeking a part-time general labourer to support the operations at our demonstration plant in London.

Responsibilities:

Perform and monitor operation of Demonstration Plant.
Troubleshoot and address process faults if they occur.
Maintain daily log of process parameters, general observations, process or equipment faults, and execution of daily operational tasks.
Forklift operation to transport material on-site.
Safe and proper handling of hazardous chemicals present in processes according to SDS.
Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean workspace ensuring compliance with all safety policies and 5S practices.
On-site 12-20 hours per week

Preferred qualifications and skills:

Experience in an industrial plant environment
Strong mechanical equipment aptitude / good with hands.
Experience working with hand tools.
Forklift experience and valid forklift license.
Working at heights training.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including regular weekend work and on-call work.
