Turning Leaf is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides person-centered, crisis and treatment

services to low and high-risk vulnerable and marginalized individuals living with mental illness and

intellectual challenge in our community. Turning Leaf's support is customized to every individual's needs

and risk level. We offer crisis-intervention and treatment services, community support, day program

services, residential support (including emergency housing, 24-hour homes, cluster housing, and home

share), a harm reduction program, clinical services, indigenous services and more.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications

Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the department in executing the annual marketing

plan, communications functions, championing the Agency's report writing, overseeing social media, and

assisting with graphic design and photography.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator also collaborates with all departments as needed to

help further the agency's mission, vision, goals, and objectives.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Cover letter and Resume are required.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • ENCOURAGED BUT OPTIONAL: Please submit online graphic design and/or photography
portfolios (website, social media pages, etc.) or submit digital samples of your work with your

cover letter and resume.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Communications and/or Creative Communications Diploma
preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check, Adult & Child Abuse Registry Check
and (no older than three months).

  • Available 40 hours per week Monday to Friday in office hours with the willingness to work some
evenings when necessary.

  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience in a corporate setting.
  • Graphic design skills are required.
  • Photography, photo editing and graphic design skills are required.
  • Extensive social media management experience is required.
  • Experience in fundraising an asset.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit organization, especially in the mental health/social services
sector is an asset.

  • Strong academic and creative writer with meticulous copyediting skills.
  • Exceptional reporting skills, including research, data gathering, and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing practices.
  • Proficient working with Canva, WordPress, DonorPerfect, and Constant Contact is an asset.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with vulnerable people and people with disabilities is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
  • Three employment references.
