We currently have an opening for the following position:Machine Operator - Dip Tank Operator
The Machine Operator reports directly to the Fabrication Shop Supervisor
Job Purpose:
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient and accurate cutting or bending of product through the assigned machine/process in the fabrication department.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following**:
Quality:
- Consistently meet all specifications and standards in production.
- Perform visual inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Quantity:
- Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently, with mínimal waste.
- Meet the productivity standards as established in the shop.
- Responsible for assisting in meeting all production schedules and deadlines.
- Work with the supervisor to resolve any technical, productivity, safety or schedule problems.
General Duties:
- Perform general shop duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Operate machinery and use tools safely.
- Report broken or damaged machinery promptly.
- Review work instruction, procedures and checklists and ensure materials and equipment needed for production are ready and the work area is prepared.
- Assist in any work area and aid other team members when assigned.
- Clean work areas as required.
- Perform Operator maintenance on equipment and keep records.
- Wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
- Ensure all training certificates are current.
Other:
- Travel as required.
- Adhere to all environmental, health and safety regulations and follow the environmental and quality management systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a highvolume production facility.
- Experience reading blueprints.
- Experience operating one or more of the following: Shear, laser, water jet, pipe bender or brake to quality standards and guidelines.
- Experience using power tools.
Education/ Professional Certification:
- High School Diploma
- Must have, or be eligible for, all current applicable training certifications.
- Post secondary diploma in Manufacturing Technology preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to use a computer
- Ability to use measuring tools
- Math skills
- Ability to work well with others
