  • Multiple casual opportunities are available across Vancouver Island. _


Food Services plays a vital role at Island Health, providing nourishing and balanced meals to patients every day and supporting our commitment to provide the highest quality health care services to the populations we serve.

Supervisors are needed to oversee and participate in the delivery of food services, including supervising and coaching staff and maintaining departmental standards and procedures.


Our casual positions allow you to build a flexible schedule to suit your needs through our automated call-out shift system.

You may choose to enrol in benefits and Municipal Pension Plan (once an initial period has passed), and you can participate in Island Health's Employee & Family Assistance Program and Preferred Purchasing Program.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a twoyear CSNMaccredited program in Food Service and Nutrition Management.
  • At least 1 year of recent related leadership experience in food services.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively/conflict management.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Excellent time management skills in a fastpaced work environment.
