WORK ILLUSTRATION:

The Manager, Project Execution is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the organization's metering work program.

This includes providing technical and administrative guidance and management to selected vendors during the allocation of all work, pre-construction and construction stages of the program, monitoring the on-time, on cost completion of assigned work programs to ensure the work meets the distribution system and Meter to Cash needs, including constructability with a high degree of safety and reliability built into the design.

In addition, the Manager is expected to oversee the end to end successful integration of assets into the Meter to Cash processes and systems and ensure the successful delivery of the metering work program


The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage the delivery of the work program, ensuring accurate forecasting and delivery of targets
  • Provides daytoday guidance and support to assigned vendors to ensure the work package viability (cost, customer, assets function, reliability, safety, and environment) and timely, costeffective work completion (schedule adherence, actual vs. estimate, change order management) of assigned work programs
  • Participates in both pre and post construction meetings (planned and actual), working closely with the assigned thirdparty auditor to ensure compliance with all required processes and procedures is maintained during project work
  • Reviews budgetary estimates and initiates, as required, the change request process through Program Management
  • Manages the relationships with assigned vendors to ensure project execution is completed according to work plans
  • Leads shortinterval planning and review meetings with vendors to ensure safety management, adherence to standards and quality, schedule attainment and resourcing
  • Monitors contractor performance (including legal compliance, nonconformance reports, and compliance to Toronto Hydro policies), identifying issues and solutions to close gaps as required
  • Takes action to mitigate and resolve project delivery issues as they arise with internal and external stakeholders that could impact work program attainment
  • Reviews and oversees external services contractors to ensure the terms of the negotiated agreements are met, including invoicing, budget reconciliation for project, and unit price contract management

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Undergraduate degree. Engineering strongly preferred.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory or project leadership/project management experience in electrical distribution, system planning, design, and construction
  • Five (5) years of experience in a utility or commercial/industrial construction and maintenance environment, experience in metering work execution strongly preferred
  • Class G license required
  • Knowledge of OHSA, Toronto Hydro/EUSA Rule Book, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and relevant safety, electrical and environmental legislation and regulations
  • Familiar with reading electrical drawings, work protection codes, feeder/operating prints, overhead, underground work practices and standards
  • Understanding of project management methodology, project oversight and control
  • Experience in developing and administering contracts to leverage external resources to support capital work program
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skill
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs.

Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person.

You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
