Job Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. Your attention to detail and comprehensive understanding of Canadian payroll regulations will be essential to your success.

Here are some of the key responsibilities you will undertake:


  • Process endtoend payroll for a large employee base, including data entry, calculations, and deductions, while adhering to applicable federal and provincial payroll regulations.
  • Verify and reconcile timesheets, benefits, and other payrollrelated data to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR department to ensure seamless onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Address employee inquiries and provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating your knowledge of payroll processes and policies.
  • Prepare and distribute employee pay statements, tax forms, and other payrollrelated documents in a timely manner.
  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconcile payroll records to maintain data integrity.
  • Generate reports and provide payrollrelated information to management as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator in a fastpaced environment, with a strong understanding of Canadian payroll regulations and terminology.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and systems (e.g., Ceridian, ADP) to process payroll accurately and efficiently.
  • Solid knowledge of federal and provincial payroll legislation, including Employment Standards Act, Income Tax Act, and Canada Pension Plan.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively address employee inquiries and provide support.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information.
  • Relevant certifications such as a PCP or CPM will be a great asset.
