Field Sales Technical Representative, CanadaSUMMARY:
The Field Technical Representative is responsible for enforcing an acceptable and uniform level of quality on Company projects inspected throughout the assigned territory.
Responsibilities in this position include performing and completing roof inspections, performing specialized tasks including hands-on training and problem resolution.This position works closely with the Siplast/GAF Field Services Management and Territory Sales Managers, Independent Reps, the Siplast/GAF Corporate office (HQ), and Plants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provide the following duties to the assigned territories by scheduling inspections and training as needed. This generally includes overnight travel, depending on the geographic scope of the territory. Perform job start, interim, final, extended warranty and complaint calls, roof or project inspections, and
document appropriately. Inspections and general field support for the Siplast, GAF Commercial and Steep Slope businesses as directed.
Includes:
- Provide photographic documentation of conditions as part of inspection reporting
- 60% performing site inspections in the assigned territory.
- 20% assisting in problem resolution, complaints and providing proper written communication to Siplast/GAF and respective building owners/customers
- 20% providing technical assistance to internal and external business partners, including training
- Display a positive, professional customer service manner and approach. Possess strong interpersonal and customer relationship management skills
- Submit expense reports in Workday per Company Travel & Expense Policies.
Contractor Training
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the roofing contractor, consultant/specifier, and owner.
- Conduct handson training for contractors at their yard prior to their first job, as needed.
- Assist the sales process with product demonstrations and sales training when requested and necessary.
- Ability to teach others and demonstrate proper installation techniques
- Possess a strong working knowledge of Siplast/GAF products and systems
- Possess strong computer skills related to Siplast/GAF software systems as applicable
- Sound general knowledge of commercial and residential building construction
- Strong organizational, time management and planning skills. Ability to prioritize multiple activities and commitments
- Ability to work toward team goals and provide solutions
- Good attention to detail
- Participate in Siplast/GAF safety training & adhere to company safety policies
- Adhere to Job Site Safety Practices & Mfg. Plant Safety Practices
- Wear appropriate PPE for jobsite & manufacturing facilities (i.e. hard hat, safety glasses, reflective vest, work boots, gloves, appropriate clothing, etc.)
- Exercise rooftop & ladder safety precautions
- Adhere to company policies concerning driver safety and cell phone usage (i.e. use of handsfree devices, no texting while driving, etc.)
- Exercise safe driving practices
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials, ladders, etc. Ability to safely work at heights, recognize and evaluate jobsite hazards
- Follow jobsite safety standards as prescribed by contractor or building owner
- Report a jobrelated injury to HR immediately
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Ability to have and maintain a Company credit card for businessrelated expenses
