Job Duties:


  • Identify and develop relationships with suppliers and manufacturers in Asia
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers and other partners
  • Manage the logistics of importing goods from overseas, including customs clearance and transportation
  • Coordinate the movement of goods and materials from suppliers to manufacturers and from manufacturers to customers
  • Ensure that the purchased goods meet the organization's quality standards and are delivered on time
  • Analyze category specific needs and action into developments that are within budget
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of the supply chain
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and development to meet the changing needs of market
  • Track development KPIs on number of seasonal developments
  • Identify and manage risks within the supply chain
  • Assist and ensure development is flowing within calendar timelines
  • Lead, mentor, support and develop the purchasing team
  • Recruit, onboard and train new teammates

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a purchasing management level role
  • Experience in supply chain management and a strong understanding of logistics and transportation
  • Extended work experience of being an international buyer or in import and export business is strongly preferred and will be prioritized
  • Related knowledge (e.g. industrial materials, tools, equipment and etc.,) or experience with industrial supply materials is an asset
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and customs procedures related to global sourcing
  • Familiarity with international logistics process and capable to handle the import process
  • Experience in working with suppliers and partners in Asia is highly desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with strong ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Advanced English oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin is an asset
  • Business trips to Asia as required
  • This position may require working standard hours aligned with customer's time zone
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, SAP)

Salary:
$132,000.00 per year
